Sander Crijns and Arnoud Dekeyzer of Spott pointing at Australia on a world map with darts

Spott Has Landed in Sydney: Our Australian Office Is Open

TL;DR

  • Spott has opened its APAC office in Sydney. Sander Crijns (sales and partnerships) and Arnoud Dekeyzer (customer success and operations) have relocated from Leuven to run it.
  • Australian and New Zealand agencies now get demos, onboarding, training and support on their own hours, instead of a Belgian team starting at 6:30 in the morning.
  • Australia is already one of Spott's largest markets. More than one in ten Spott customers is based here, and the team came to meet them in person: a month in Sydney, then a Melbourne tour in October.
  • We are hiring Australians for the Sydney office, starting with one in sales and one in customer success, and growing to around ten people within a year. We also want to meet our customers in person, not just on video calls.

Sydney, September 2026. Spott, the AI-native ATS and CRM for recruitment agencies, has opened its Asia-Pacific office in Sydney. It is Spott's third office after Leuven and New York, and the first time Australian and New Zealand customers have a Spott team in their own time zone.

Two people have moved from Belgium to start it. Sander Crijns, one of Spott's first account executives, leads sales and partnerships for the region. Arnoud Dekeyzer, until now Spott's Chief of Staff, runs customer success and operations: onboarding, training, support, and everything that keeps the office running. Both are hiring immediately.

Why Sydney?

Spott never planned to be a Belgian company that expanded abroad later. New York opened in September, and Sydney followed within weeks. Australia made the decision easy: Spott has more than 350 agencies on the platform worldwide, and more than one in ten of them is Australian, from single-desk boutiques in Adelaide to multi-office firms in Sydney and Melbourne. Word of mouth in the Australian recruitment community, including groups like Recruitment United, has done most of that work, and the team has been booking Australian demos at 6:30 in the morning Belgian time for the better part of a year to keep up.

"Our founders knew from day one that Spott needed an office in APAC, and Australia made Sydney the obvious first stop. We already have customers all over the country. Now we're in their time zone, and we intend to be in their offices." - Sander Crijns, Sales and Partnerships APAC

Sydney is home to most of the national recruitment firms and the biggest share of Spott's Australian customers, so it is the base. Melbourne is the second stop.

What Australian agencies told us

Before the move, Sander and Arnoud called Spott's Australian customers one by one, and Sander has run discovery calls with Australian and New Zealand agencies for most of 2026. A few things came up on almost every call:

  • The market runs on two legacy platforms. JobAdder and Bullhorn dominate, with Vincere close behind. Long-time JobAdder users told us development has slowed while pricing has not, and several firms described AI features that arrived late and sit behind higher tiers. Our JobAdder alternatives and Vincere alternatives guides cover the trade-offs honestly.
  • "Is anyone actually on the ground?" Australian agencies have been burned by overseas vendors before. Almost every prospect asked where Spott's people sit and whether support would ever run on Australian hours.
  • Leaving is expensive. Several agencies were quoted four-figure fees just to export their own data from a legacy system, and worried about losing years of notes in a move.

One Sydney recruiter who moved from JobAdder to Spott put it plainly: the old platforms "are going to become notepads", software that stores what you type and does nothing with it.

What changes for Australian and New Zealand customers

  • Support and onboarding on AEST. Support tickets, onboarding calls and training sessions are handled from Sydney during the Australian working day. Leuven and New York cover the rest of the clock, so tickets get picked up around the clock.
  • Training you can actually attend. Spott's fortnightly open-door session with the customer success team has always run at 4 in the morning Sydney time. It now gets an Australian edition, plus in-person sessions for customers in Sydney and Melbourne.
  • Migration in your hours. The data migration itself is run by Spott's specialist migration team, which moves a typical database in about four weeks with no downtime. Kickoff, validation and go-live are now coordinated from Sydney. Read the recruitment CRM migration guide for how it works.
  • People you can meet. The team is in Sydney and Melbourne and will visit customers on site. If you want them to come to your office, ask.
  • Same product, same releases. Spott is one platform with one roadmap. New features go live for Australian agencies at the same time as everywhere else, and with a team on the ground, Australian feedback now feeds straight into that roadmap.

We are hiring Australians, and we want to meet you in person

Sander and Arnoud are starting the office, but the team we are building is Australian. Spott is hiring locally now, beginning with one salesperson and one customer success manager, and growing to around ten people within a year. The people who onboard, train and support Australian agencies should know the market first-hand, including the difference between a boutique search firm and a labour-hire business. So we are hiring people who already have that experience.

We also want to meet our customers in person. Sander and Arnoud spend their first month in Sydney, then move to Melbourne for around four weeks in October to meet every Melbourne customer, run onboarding and training on site, and talk to agencies that are thinking about moving from JobAdder, Bullhorn or Vincere. They will also be at recruitment industry events in Melbourne at the end of October. If you want a visit while they are in your city, book a slot and mention it.

Australia has been one of Spott's largest markets for a year without a single Spott employee in the country. The region deserves more attention than that, and the Sydney office is how we give it.

If you are a recruiter or customer success person in Sydney and this sounds like a job you want, get in touch with Sander or Arnoud.

About Spott

Spott is an AI-native ATS and CRM: recruiters search their database in natural language, AI matching scores every candidate against the brief, and calls and emails are summarised into the record automatically. What's next

Spott is hiring around ten people in Australia and expects to be 60 to 70 people globally by the end of the year, across Leuven, New York and Sydney, as part of the expansion announced in July. Spott is also looking at more partnerships in the region, with the communities and suppliers Australian agencies already trust, and the team will be present at recruitment industry events across Australia and New Zealand from this spring.

Frequently Asked

  • Where is Spott's Australian office?

Spott's APAC office is in Sydney. It opened in September 2026 and is run by Sander Crijns (sales and partnerships) and Arnoud Dekeyzer (customer success and operations), who relocated from Spott's headquarters in Leuven, Belgium.

  • Does Spott offer support on Australian hours?

Yes. Since September 2026, onboarding, training and support for Australian and New Zealand customers run from the Sydney office during AEST business hours. Spott's Leuven and New York offices cover the remaining hours.

  • How long does a migration from JobAdder, Bullhorn or Vincere take?

A typical migration takes about four weeks: kickoff and audit, data moved and vectorised, workflows rebuilt, then go-live. It runs in the background, so your team keeps working on the old system until the switch.
