Data Engineer

About the Role

At Spott, a YC-backed AI startup in Leuven, we are resetting the $700B+ recruitment industry with the first AI-native ATS and CRM. As a Data Engineer, you will ensure recruitment firms transition seamlessly from legacy systems to Spott. You will own the end-to-end migration process, build robust pipelines, and create clear documentation, directly contributing to client success and platform growth.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize complex data migrations from legacy systems to Spott
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using dbt and Snowflake to handle large datasets efficiently
• Establish clear data handling processes and write documentation for end-to-end pipeline management
• Inject new data into production environments and support customer success to delight clients during migration

Requirements

• Proven ability to navigate undocumented systems, reverse-engineer data models, and solve problems through experimentation
• Practical, solutions-focused approach to complex data challenges
• Hands-on experience with dbt, SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Python
• Experience with Terraform and Azure is a strong plus
